Biography
Luci Briginshaw was the Winner of the 2021 Fulham Opera Robert Presley Memorial Verdi Prize, also winning the Audience Prize. In 2019 she was awarded the Audience Prize and Second Prize at the inaugural Opera: By Voice Alone Competition.
2024 begins with a Live at Lunch recital at the Royal Opera House with pianist Erika Gundesen. Later this year, Luci will play The Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute for Wild Arts. In 2023 Luci played La Contessa di Folleville in Rossini's Il Viaggio a Reims for English Touring Opera and the title role in Mozart's Constanze at West Green Opera.

Luci has sung Aithra in Strauss' Die Ågyptische Helena for Fulham Opera, Juliette and cover Marietta for Longborough Festival Opera's Die Tote Stadt and The Queen of Shemakha in Rimsky-Korsakov's The Golden Cockerel for English Touring Opera.

Other recent roles are: The Queen of the Night (cover) in The Magic Flute for Glyndebourne, Fennimore in Kurt Weill's Der Silbersee, cover Konstanze in Mozart's The Seraglio, and cover Matilde in Rossini's Elisabetta all for English Touring Opera, as well as Iris in the world premiere of Keith Burstein's The Prometheus Revolution for Grimeborn Festival, and The Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute for OperaUpClose at Soho Theatre. In support of her roles with ETO Luci was asked to sing live on BBC Radio 3 in October 2019.
She has also sung the title role in Patience (ETO), Adele Die Fledermaus (Fulham Opera), cover Zerlina Don Giovanni (ETO), Mimì La Bohème (Opera Loki), Die Königin der Nacht Die Zauberflöte (Pavilion Opera), Donna Anna Don Giovanni (HGO), Gilda Rigoletto (Opera Loki), Leila The Pearl Fishers (Opera South East) and Violetta La Traviata (Opera Loki).
In 2021 Luci released her debut recording, Peter Warlock Songbook, with pianist Eleanor Meynell, on the Convivium label.

Luci has a passion for contemporary children's opera and in 2019 toured the UK as soloist with ETO's education project, Paradise Planet. In 2013 she created the role of The Grandma in Mario Ferraro's Ahayiuta and the Cloud Eater and in 2016 toured with ETO's Laika the Spacedog. Following her 2012 roles in Martyn Harry's My Mother Told Me Not To Stare, in 2020 Luci starred in several performances of his new time-travelling opera for children, Vehicles, before the pandemic cut short the tour.
Recent and forthcoming concert engagements include: Mozart Requiem at St Martin in the Fields with the NLSO, Vierne Les Angelus with Bath Choral Society, Poulenc Gloria, Mendelssohn Elijah and Brahms Requiem with the Brandenburg Sinfonia, Orff Carmina Burana with Opus48 in Oxford and Verdi Requiem at Cheltenham Town Hall.

Luci studied Music (with Italian) at King's College London, performing as both pianist and singer, and went on to gain the Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music with distinction in Singing Performance.
